The 7th grade plan assumes the student has completed the 6th Grade plan. This is not necessary since, as mentioned elsewhere, the idea of hard stops between grades is the wrong approach. You can easily pick up in the middle of the 6th grade plan for a child who is of “7th grade” age. But the 6th grade plan sets the stage for what the 7th grade plan continues.
7th grade history covers American history from 1600-present. It’s assumed the student completed an overview of World History in 6th grade and has some understanding of how the United States fit in world history generally. Basic outlining skills are assumed to have been developed in 6th grade, as the student will continue to develop more detailed outlines of more complex narrative-style history texts.
Mathematically, the student should be ready to start pre-algebra.
